Green Tea VS Black Tea
Both Black and Green Tea are derived from the same plant:
CAMELLIA SINENSIS
GREEN TEA
The leaves are harvested, withered, and then heated through steaming or pan-firing. This process HALTS oxidation so the leaves retain their COLOR and DELICATE, fresh FLAVOR.
BLACK TEA
The leaves are harvested and withered and then crushed, torn, curled, or rolled and allowed to oxidize before being dried. As a result the leaves DARKEN and develop a STRONGER flavor and aroma.
CAFFEINE CONTENT:
Matcha Green Tea contains approximately 40 and 60 milligrams of caffeine. Wereas Black Tea contains 50 to 90 milligrams of caffeine on average. From a health perspective, the caffeine in green tea versus black tea is less important. What matters most is their
ANTIOXIDANTS:
Green and black tea both contain antioxidants, which may prevent cancer and other diseases. Green tea contains a HIGHER concentration of antioxidants overall because it undergoes LESS processing, meaning there are fewer opportunities for catechins to be DESTROYED.

Research is suggesting that green tea benefits the oral cavity. Green tea contains compounds that appear to control inflammation and fight bacterial infection. This drink is also rich in antioxidants, which have many health properties.
See below four reasons why green tea is good for your oral health:
1. Eliminate Bad Breath
Green tea is much better for your breath than coffee or milk because it does not contain any dairy substances nor does it cause xerostomia (dry mouth) like coffee does. In addition, green tea kills the microbes that causes our mouths to smell throughout the day from minimal water intake or, sometimes, hunger.
2. Reduce Gum Disease
A study indicated that green tea may reduce oral bacteria which, in turn, can promote the health of teeth and gums. Researchers believe that the catechins found in green tea have the potential to kill bacteria associated with tooth decay and gum disease. As a result, green tea has the potential to prevent tooth loss and other oral health problems.
3. Fight Tooth Decay
Green tea controls bacteria through regulating saliva production and acidity in the mouth. Researchers found multiple positive studies on tooth decay prevention using only green tea.
4. Reduce Oral Cancer Risk
Catechins from matcha are known for their potential anti-cancer activity. According to studies by scientists from Pennsylvania State University, matcha may help treat oral cancer cells,
The scientists found the natural antioxidant effect of matcha’s catechins could suppress cancer cells without harming the healthy cells while leaving no side effects.

Matcha Tea can boost your workout efforts. Scientific studies demonstrate that a 1g teaspoon of Matcha boosts endurance, increases metabolism, and powers up your focus. It’s a natural, organic and healthy way to boost your exercise routines.
Exercise supplements are more available than ever before. They are becoming more and more popular in helping people get ready for and/ or recover from, their workout routines. Many of these supplements contain added sugar, or sweeteners. Organic Matcha is the ultimate natural work out booster! It provides plenty of nutrients, including antioxidants that bolster your health and improve endurance throughout your workout.
Is Matcha Good Pre-Workout?
Absolutely. Matcha contains a small amount of the natural stimulant caffiene It also contains the amino acid L-Theanine. These two useful compounds appear to work in harmony together to provide a slow release of energy. The L-Theanine has also been shown to promote Alpha brain waves which support concentration and focus. The antioxidant (Catechins) boosts the ability of the body to absorb oxygen in to the bloodstream. This means that you enjoy greater endurance as the body can utilise more oxygen when you are working out.
Further to this, the Catechins also employ a thermogenic effect which means they help to boost the body’s fat-burning functions. This will combine with the thermogenic effect of your workout to boost fat burning. Regular matcha drinkers are shown to have a 20% reduction in body fat. The vitamins and minerals in matcha help the muscles build along with the proteins that are present. Overall, there are exceptional benefits from drinking matcha before your workout. In terms of timings, half an hour before you start your workout is optimal.
Is Matcha Good Post-Workout?
You may be surprised to learn that matcha not only works before you exercise, but it can also provide benefits to help your muscles recover quicker. The Catechin, EGCG found in matcha green tea, helps to mop up the free radicals caused to your body by the positive stress from your workout. Further to this, the metabolism boosting effects of the matcha will combine with the matcha to boost fat burning metabolism way beyond your workout!

Green Tea provides disease-fighting antioxidants (polyphenols and flavonoids) that protect against free radicals and help destroy them.
One study showed that catechins, a particular type of polyphenols in tea, kill certain viruses. Another Harvard study showed that people who drank 5 cups a day of black tea for two weeks had 10 times more virus-fighting interferon in their blood than others who drank a placebo hot drink.
Green Tea is rich in L-theanine, an amino acid thought to help enhance immunity that’s found in both regular and decaf versions.
