CHASHAKU - Black Bamboo Scoop by Tango Tanimura.

The Chashaku, a meticulously crafted bamboo scoop, complements the art of tea preparation as an essential tool in the ceremonial process. Designed with utmost precision, this elegant implement serves as a graceful extension of your hand, allowing you to delicately portion and measure powdered tea with the same level of care that goes into crafting it.

Handmade by skilled artisan, Tango Tanimura, the Chashaku embodies the same dedication to excellence as the renowned Chasen. Each scoop is carefully shaped from select Japanese bamboo, ensuring a harmonious blend of form and function. The Chashaku's smooth, polished surface reflects the craftsmanship behind its creation, and its ergonomic design guarantees a comfortable and confident grip.

Just as the Chasen is the key to achieving sublime Matcha, the Chashaku holds its own significance in the ritual. The artistry and authenticity of a handmade Chashaku from Takayama, where generations of tradition persist, cannot be replicated by mass-produced alternatives. It is a testament to the enduring legacy of tea culture, offering you a glimpse into centuries of expertise and heritage.

ABOUT TANGO TANIMURA - Meet Tango Tanimura, a member of the esteemed Tanimura family, which has dedicated nearly five centuries to producing tea whisks in their town. Takayama has remained the hub of tea whisk craftsmanship in Japan for over five hundred years. Among the 13 families granted surnames by the Tokugawa government during the Edo Period (1603-1867), the Tanimura family stands as one of the last three remaining.

Heading the 20th generation of the Tanimura lineage, Tango Tanimura has impeccably mastered the ancestral techniques of production, passed down through generations from father to son, just as his predecessors did.
