July 16, 2024

At Sorate, we love exploring new ways to enjoy our Premium Matcha.
This month, we’re excited to share a refreshing and delicious recipe that’s perfect for summer – Sparkling Matcha Yuzu!

Sparkling Matcha Yuzu Recipe
Elevate your matcha experience with this fresh and delicious recipe. Follow these simple steps to create a delightful Sparkling Matcha Yuzu drink:

INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 grams of Sorate Hekisho House Matcha
  • 8 oz glass
  • Kimino Sparkling Yuzu (or any other high-quality sparkling yuzu drink)
  • Water
PREPARATION:
  1. Measure Your Matcha: Begin by measuring 2 grams of our Hekisho House Matcha
  2. Prepare the Glass: Use an 8 oz glass to ensure the perfect balance.
  3. Add Water: Pour a small amount of water into the glass. Be careful not to add too much, as this can dilute the matcha and lessen its vibrant flavor. Mix into a loose paste until the matcha is fully dissolved.
  4. Add Sparkling Yuzu: Top off your glass with Kimino Sparkling Yuzu. This brand is not too sweet and is made in Japan, making it an excellent choice for this recipe. However, any good-quality sparkling Yuzu will work just as well.
  5. Stir and Enjoy: Gently stir to combine the Matcha with the sparkling Yuzu. Sip and savor the refreshing blend of quality Matcha and flavorful Yuzu.

This Sparkling Matcha Yuzu drink is perfect for a hot summer day, offering a unique and invigorating taste experience.

MATCHA CULTIVARS

July 24, 2024

Matcha, like champagne, is crafted from specific cultivars, each contributing unique flavors. Sorate offers four cultivars: Yabukita (balanced, vibrant green), Samidori (deep green, mild), Asahi (rare, rich, creamy), and Okumidori (umami, bright green).

Single Cultivar matcha showcases one cultivar's traits, preferred by enthusiasts. Blended Cultivar matcha combines multiple cultivars for a balanced flavor, appealing to a broader audience. At Sorate, our diverse matchas highlight these unique flavors and qualities for a distinctive matcha experience.

disappointed

disappointed after trying this matcha directly after finishing my rockys osada tin. i was excited since this is supposed to be “the spot” to get matcha in nyc so i was expecting it to be good. its not bad its just average and honestly pretty chalky/grainy textured even afer fine sifting and whisking well. and theres an unpleasant bitter taste especially towards the bottom of my drink even after mixing and shaking it around to keep it from separating. i would definitely stick to ippodo and rockys in the future.

So nutty

Delicious matcha powder, nutty and pairs well with whole milk for an iced latte
